The rivalry between Impey Barbicane, a weapon engineer and Captain Nicholl of Philadelphia, an armour designer turns into a wager that involves in a trip to the moon. Michel Ardan, a French adventurer also joins them in the journey. The fate of the adventurers is left uncertain at the end.
