বায়োগ্রাফি: Johanna Spyriis (nee Heusser) spent several summers near Chur in Graubünden, the location she later would use in her books. She became a notable writer was a Swiss-born author of novels, notably children's stories, and is best known for her book Heidi. Her writing career began with A Leaf on Vrony's Grave, which deals with domestic violence experienced by women. She married lawyer Bernhard Spyri. In 1884 her son also named Bernhard and husband both passed away. As a result, she devoted her time to income in different charities. She died in 1901. As a Swiss icon, her picture was placed on postage stamps in 1951 and on 20 CHF commemorative coin in 2009.
