বায়োগ্রাফি: Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (Japanese name Koizumi Yakumo (小泉 八雲),) was best known for especially his collections of Japanese legends and ghost stories, such as Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things. Hearn is also renowned for his works about the city of New Orleans based on his decade long in that city. He was born to a Greek mother and an Irish father both of whom left him very early in life. He came to the U.S.A. and his first job was a newspaper reporter and that took him to many places like Ohio and New Orleans. He married a, a 20-year-old African American woman named married Alethea ("Mattie") Foley on 14 June 1874, Hearn, aged 23 which violated of Ohio's anti-miscegenation law at that time. dispite many obstacles and legal problems they tried to work out the marriage failed. As a newspaper correspondent, he went to Japan and married Koizumi Setsu of a local samurai family. He became a naturalized Japanese. In 1896 after accepting a teaching position in Tokyo.
